Electoral Roll
NEW Parish Electoral Roll 2025
Every six years we start a new Church Electoral Roll from scratch. The Church Electoral Roll is the register of its voting members and allows you to play a full part in the life of the parish. As a member, you can attend and vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting.
2025 is the year we start a new Electoral Roll. Whether or not you have been on the Roll in the past, if you want to be on the new Church Electoral Roll, you must complete a new application form.
New for 2025: Online forms have been circulated by email to those on the existing Electoral Roll, and can also be found below.
If you prefer, paper application forms will be available:
· at all church services
· from the Electoral Roll Officer (Hilary Reeve)
All completed forms must be returned by Sunday 20 April either:
· by placing a paper form in the red box to be found at the back of each church; or
· by emailing a scanned form to the Electoral Roll Officer, Hilary Reeve e: electoralroll@godalmingminster.org; or

What is the Church Electoral Roll?
It is your parish church’s register of electors. It is the list of those qualified to attend and to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting where the elections take place for:
· the Parochial Church Council (PCC)
· the parish’s representatives on the Deanery Synod
Any person entitled to attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting may raise any question of parochial or general church interest. By enrolling you become a voting member of the Church of England and so help to ensure that all the Synodical councils of the Church – the PCC, the Deanery Synod, the Diocesan Synod and the General Synod – are fully representative of its members. Synodical government gives an opportunity for partnerships between bishops, clergy and laity in the life of the Church. The system is intended to enable church people at every level to be in touch with the Church as a whole and to play their part in decision making. The system is also intended to ensure that the laity have their place in every aspect of church life, including its doctrine and services.
The information you provide on this form will be kept until the expiry of the Roll (spring 2031) or earlier should you wish to be removed from the Roll. Please notify the Electoral Roll Officer if your details need updating.
