Notices for Remembrance Sunday 2024

Dear Friends,

On Mon 4 Nov, 7.30pm at Church Street, the Archdeacon of Surrey, The Venerable Catharine Mabuza gave a briefing to the parish of Godalming Minster on the process to advertise and appoint a new Rector, after the departure of Simon Taylor on 5th Jan 2025.

A summary of the briefing can be found in the Archdeacon’s Vacancy Newsletter which you can downloaded using the button below.

As mentioned in the Vacancy Newsletter, Mat Ineson, from the Guildford Diocese will facilitate a Vacancy Vision workshop for the PCC and SLT on 18th November. Matt is very familiar with Godalming Minster, having facilitated two workshops earlier in the year to help us define our vision and key priorities. The primary objective of the upcoming Vacancy Vision workshop will be to determine the job specification of our new rector and to identify skills/gifts that we think he/she ought to possess. This information will help us write our Parish Profile. Our churchwardens would like to hear the thoughts of members of the wider congregation. To this end please email them in confidence at david.wilkin@godalmingminster.org and william.bryans@godalmingminster.org or speak to them personally before 18th November.

In the this week’s notices:

  • Remembrance Sunday Services

  • Vacancy Prayer gatherings

  • Coming Up in Nov, Dec and beyond.
